The Associated Clan MacLeod Societies (ACMS) is promoting a World Gathering of Clan MacLeod in South Australia. April 14th – 18th 2021.

The venue is the renown wine area of McLaren Vale, near the state capital city of Adelaide. The region is celebrated for its diverse food produce, wines, the natural scenic beauty and beaches. It also has significant connections to the MacLeods of Raasay, the descendants of “Clan Torquil”, who migrated to the fledgling colony and pioneered the McLaren Vale settlement, and later the great fertile lands to the south east near Bordertown.

The Gathering offers the experiences of clan fellowship, meeting kin,  the diversity of the diaspora, and discovery of a new world. Interpret their wonder and bewilderment of encountering the animals, the reversed seasons, the strange trees, the indigenous people, the heat, fires, little rain, no boats, no castles, no cities, the gold rushes, and a heady air of exploration, wealth and opportunity.

Find out more about the World Gathering and the Young MacLeods event running alongside.
